About Us
Bowden has been built off of building strong foundations and strong meaning within our communties. We believe that creating these meaningful bonds helps to create a sense of belonging that we get here that you wont find anywhere else. With community centres and recreation activities for everyone, it makes Bowden a great place to start a family of your own. Bowden is located just 1 hour away from Calgary, making it easy to live comfortably away from the city while still being able to have a job that meets your needs. We have always stood for our values as a community, and we ensure that these values are displayed throughout our beautiful town. Bowden was first incorporated as a village over a hundred years ago in 1904. This is a town in which our history and roots run deeper than they may seem. It took over 50 years for Bowden to fully move onto its present stage of officially being incorporated as a town. It was in 1981 when Bowden had officially become its own town and it was not too long from then they celebrated their centennial in 2004.
Housing & Communities
With our expanding town comes expanding our communties. Here at Bowden we highly value the importance of building a strong sense of community and belonginging within our town. We are constantly striving to improve and create more communities with new housing, schools, parks and all other things that can help bring us together. Creating a safe enviroment for every family is our number one priority. With the additions of all these things it builds stronger and more meaningful bonds within our communities. Bowden is focused on allocating resources and funding towards building new neighborhoods all around Bowden. With new plans for condominiums, houses, and apartment complexes Bowden has places for all ages and price ranges. We aim to provide our people with the opportunities that they need to succeed and obtain a better life for themselves.
Recreation & Actvities
The town of Bowden has tons of things to do for leisure and recreation for people of all ages! Experience our local library filled with thousands of books our library is sure to keep you occupied and have you searching for more. Other than just books our library has computers and printers available for public use. If books are not your thing, then check out Bowden’s Museum’s Eastern Star Exhibit that portrays long and rich history of the Eastern Star. These are just some of the recreational activities all around Bowden! Bowden has a community rink, golf course, maze, berry farms, as well as ranch & lodging for those wanting to experience the outdoors! In addition to Bowden’s various activities, our location is a prime spot if you are an outdoors person! Bowden’s location places it just 2 hours away from Banff National Park and the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains. Having all these amenities in your backyard makes Bowden a wonderful place to live! Bowden has many facilities for everyone of all ages and we aim to further push this narrative so that we can build better communities and provide activities for our youth to be occupied with.

Growth Plans
As being a small town with a relatively low population, our goal is to further grow and expand our communities so that we can add to our already flourishing town. Creating more infrastructure, affordable housing and putting together more job opportunities so that we can focus on building together not only within our families but as a community as a whole. In addition to the following, we are focused on growing outwards. Over the years our population has been growing at a rate that we are ever so thankful for. The growth of Bowden only further pushes the culture and the community that has been built here for years and years. To accommodate this rapidly growing population we are allocating funds towards upgrading and building a better Bowden. This includes things such as new community centers, recreation centers, parks, arenas, plazas, malls, and further constructions are all necessary to grow our blooming city. Not only will this bring in more business for the city, but it will also create more opportunities for the next generation. We believe that for our town to grow forward, we need to focus on the future of our society, that will benefit every family and help them to achieve all their goals.
What's New & Exciting!
Find out what’s new and exciting in the Town of Bowden! Bowden is constantly refreshing and updating our landscape and infrastructure every single year! Over the last 3 years our town has grown immensely in population as well as grown ourselves in terms of providing value to our people and the children of tomorrow. Things such as a brand-new library, a new skating rink, as well as a recreation center have opened new doors and activities for everyone of all ages to enjoy. From taking a stroll in one of our many various parks or going for a public skate with friends and family, Bowden has something fit for everyone. Our goal is to keep our people happy and the way we plan on doing that is allowing our people to continue to do the things that they love and enjoy!
Enhancing our town is what we need to do in order to build Bowden better, putting our people first and giving them the opportunity to have a say in what fulfills their wants and needs. Not only are we striving to create more infrastructure for recreation use so that the future of our town is able to explore their creativity and showcase their talents, whichever they may be. But we are also creating infrastructure to grow our community and give families what they need in order to prosper and grow beyond all limits.
